In order to meet the design brief, the client, Elton Roep from Wokai Design, together with Regency Stone, combined natural ‘Star Beech’ granite and ‘Suede’ Quantum Quartz engineered stone. The granite was selected for the island benchtop for its unique and high-end appearance, while the consistent colour scheme in the engineered stone prevents the remaining benchtops from overwhelming the overall design of the kitchen.
Further to its eye-catching texture, the waterfall ends allow for greater contrast between the granite and dark stain of the wooden accents. The result is a raised stone island that can be viewed from most areas in the home, making it a truly important design element of the kitchen.
