Mason Joinery Project 2

Designed for a family of five, this recent project from Mason Joinery is contemporary yet timeless. The client’s brief called for a family-oriented kitchen that was equal parts stylish and practical. Designed by architect Anna Ferguson and built by Adam Italia of Bluechip Concepts, this modern kitchen’s sleek appearance is characterised by pristine lines and shadowline cabinet details.

The smooth, handle-less surfaces add a timeless elegance to the design that will remain stylish for years to come. The shadowline cabinets and drawers also serve as an additional safety feature for a family with young children. The integrated fridge and dual oven increase the kitchen’s functionality and complete its sophisticated aesthetic.

The expansive island bench acts as a hub for the family, providing an ideal space for informal dining and cooking preparation. The butler’s pantry is adjoined to the kitchen but can be closed off for hassle-free cleaning or kitchen prep when entertaining. The pantry is fitted with a deep sink, dishwasher and storage shelves.

For the bathroom, the client wanted to prioritise storage and bench space. Designed by Anna Ferguson and Mason Joinery director Drew Nethercote, high ceilings, light tiled floors and timber-grain cabinetry elevate this stunning bathroom. Built from durable Polytec European walnut, the non-reflective finish of the vanity and cabinets provides a calming contrast to the white and grey colour palette.

Dual sink bowls and a long mirror ensure the bathroom is generously sized, and accommodating for multiple family members. The elegant floating vanity contributes to the openness of the bathroom, creates additional storage below, and allows for easier cleaning.

The accompanying wet room adds a distinctive ‘wow’ factor to the design. Stylish and functional, the wet room fits perfectly with the modern aesthetic of this home and is easier to clean and maintain than a conventional shower. Lacking a traditional shower tray, the wet room provides a safer alternative for young children and people with disabilities.
