Kitchen Evolution Project 3

For this project, the homeowners wanted a kitchen with a timeless aesthetic suited to the remainder of the house, as well as room for the family to move, and space for entertaining. Designed in-house by Peter Barrass and built by the talented team at Kitchen Evolution, the striking space features a considered mix of classic and contemporary elements.

Featuring a generous amount of bench space and storage potential, as well as a spacious floor area and state-of-the- art Smeg cooking appliances, the kitchen is a functional hub which the whole family can utilise. By positioning it adjacent to the outdoor meals zone, Kitchen Evolution made a seamless flow of indoor and alfresco entertaining possible.

Painted in Resene ‘Dark Knight’, the shaker-style cabinetry beautifully contrasts with the Smartstone Athena benchtops. The rich blue hue adds character to the space and brings a sense of elegance. Perrin & Rowe handles perfectly complement the pressed metal splashback in the cooking area, achieving timeless appeal.

Incorporating the existing brick fireplace into the overall design without compromising its original beauty posed a challenge. However, with considered planning, the feature wall was expertly integrated into the central workstation and is a standout piece among the modern features in the space.

Energy-efficient LED lighting offers ample illumination, supported by vintage-style pendant lights above the island bench, and matching wall lights on either side of the sink.

Located in South-East Queensland, Kitchen Evolution was established in 2011 by Dane Hancock and David Robert, who share more than 30 years of experience in the industry.
