To meet the homeowners’ request for a cohesive industrial aesthetic, this inviting open-plan kitchen was designed to showcase the home’s exposed steel H-beams and suspended concrete ceiling.

Kitchen Crew collaborated with Base Architecture to design the modern 12m x 3m kitchen, which also highlights the existing red-brick feature wall. Fitted with an abundance of windows and glass doors, the space is bathed in natural light throughout the day, while the downlights positioned above the island bench provide illumination at night.

The honed-concrete island benchtop features an extended breakfast bar that can be accessed from the adjoining living room and dining areas, which is ideal for entertaining friends and family. ‘Blackbutt Wave’ timber veneer from Laminex was selected for the majority of the cabinetry, while the glossy white drawers contrast beautifully with the sleek black 40mm lip-pull handles.
