Jurodesign’s director, Roland Henkel designed this creative kitchen for his own private residence. The crisp, clean lines and monochromatic palette allow the textural details to be the prominent feature of the space.

The kitchen was specifically designed to unite with the adjoining living space. This was achieved with seamless  cabinetry and integrated appliances. Plenty of cabinetry was included to provide ample storage space, while the extra-large sink makes clean-up easy.

The cabinetry features a combination of TIP-ON BLUMOTION LEGRABOX drawers and push-to-open doors for easy accessibility and streamlined appeal. The cabinetry flows through to the outdoor space to tie the two areas together and create the perfect entertaining space for the Queensland climate.

The generously sized island bench features an extended benchtop, which is ideal for dining and entertaining. The 12mm Corian benchtop in ‘Glacier Ice’ was selected for its durability and easy maintenance. The embossed timber-look finish from New Age Veneers creates visual contrast, while adding to the industrial aesthetic.

The custom-made feature light was made from black powder-coated aluminium and an LED strip. The light illuminates the island bench and creates an artistic ambiance. A matching shadow line flows around the perimeter of the space to add visual continuity.

The oven is hidden from view behind the island bench, while the undermount rangehoods and flush-mounted cooktop produce an elegant dining area. The existing structural brickwork was clear coated to create a beautiful industrial splashback, which is illuminated by recessed LED strip lighting.
