Alby Turner & Son Kitchens

This unique home needed a kitchen that would complement its style, and Haris Bahtiyarov from Alby Turner & Son Kitchens was given the task of creating the new space.

The owners were open to any ideas that would underline the high-quality design, as the kitchen would serve as the centrepiece of the home.

The curved back wall with see-through fish tank was designed with internally and externally curved cabinets to create a three-dimensional appearance and futuristic layout. This creative feature separates the kitchen from the second living area.

The bean-shaped island has a raised concave bar top section with LED strip lights recessed under its acrylic surface, generating an even-patterned light surface.

It is smoothly integrated in the back of the curved island and the undermounted sink is hidden behind the raised section. Eclectic shapes and lines complement one another to create an ultra-modern look. The gloss metallic two-pack doors boast timber grain highlights, while integrated appliances help maintain a streamlined appearance.

Described by the designers at Alby Turner & Son Kitchens as a timeless design, this next kitchen is an example of the exceptional results the company can achieve balancing requirements for both living and entertaining.

The standard of quality in Alby Turner & Son Kitchens’ work is immediately obvious in the project showcased here. The company worked with the owner of the property over a period of time to bring their dreams to fruition. The focal point of the kitchen is the imposing chimney mantle and the elegant island bench. The Oxford ‘Parchment’ doors and panels accentuate the chimney’s powerful, substantial presence.

The cabinetry pays homage to the home’s traditional character and finishes, and is accentuated by heritage plinths, fluted moulding and decorative kickboards.

The kitchen’s soft beige walls, intricate cornicing and solid timber floors beautifully complement the classic aesthetic, while the ‘Black Galaxy’ granite island benchtop creates a striking contrast.

Five separate areas were designed to care for food preparation and presentation with accompanying storage. This allows whoever is cooking the ability to deliver meals while guests can be seated in the kitchen at the island bench without interfering.

Clean lines, quality workmanship and a crisp colour palette combine in this exquisite kitchen by Alby Turner & Son Kitchens to create a space that breathes luxurious elegance.

The homeowners wanted a functional kitchen, with lots of storage space and elegant visual appeal. The result is an enviable streamlined contemporary design that ticks all the boxes.

Designed and built by Alby Turner & Son Kitchens, this kitchen was awarded the Kitchen and Bathroom Designers Institute of Australia (KBDi) award for Kitchen Designer of the Year South Australia in 2013. The sparkling centrepiece of the kitchen, and no doubt the hub of this home, is the large island benchtop.

The island’s marble benchtop features a stunning waterfall edge, which cascades beautifully to the floor. The white marble is complemented by the stainless steel splashback, which is not only beautiful, but also easy to clean. The rear benchtop also features stainless steel.

All drawers throughout the kitchen feature Alby Turner & Son Kitchens satin natural white polyurethane with Arris edge, and Blum Intivo (Tip-On) technology. The absence of drawer handles enhances the clean lines of the space, again providing a chic aesthetic.

The rear wall panels are finished with black American oak veneer with custom timber handles, and conceal the large walk-in pantry. This addition is particularly handy when the owners are entertaining, and means that the main kitchen can stay clean and clutter-free.

In addition to custom-designed kitchens, Alby Turner & Son Kitchens also builds customised outdoor kitchens. The company’s custom-built outdoor kitchens not only look amazing, but will also withstand the elements.

High-end finishes and weather-proof hardware, including aluminium-framed glass doors, stainless steel drawer hardware and composite cabinet material, will ensure your outdoor kitchen will withstand the elements year after year.

Alby Turner & Son Kitchens can also fit-out your home with custom-designed joinery to ensure your bar and entertainment units, cellar, vanities, study, laundry, robes and linens are completed to the same standard as your kitchen.

Displayed here is a bar with a wine cellar and tasting room, which has been designed and built for a client with an extensive collection of wine and sporting memorabilia. Designer veneers have been combined with stainless steel and acrylic benchtops to provide a modern look, while the large black tiles tie the bar into the rest of the home With substantial knowledge passed down from one generation to the next, Albert ‘Alby’ Turner established the company in 1972 alongside his sons Greg and Steve.

Now managed by Greg Schoenmakers, Steve Davies and Daryle Thomas (who all completed their apprentices under Alby in 1972) and Alby’s grandsons, Rob and Andrew, Alby Turner & Son Kitchens continues to go from strength to strength, with a strong referral-based clientele.
