Kitchen Evolution Project 1

This eye-catching kitchen was designed by Peter Barrass for Kitchen Evolution, and blends striking contemporary aesthetics with impressive functionality.

For this design, Barrass whole-heartedly embraced a monochromatic palette of clean whites, stark blacks and brushed stainless steel accents, which delivers a sleek and voguish look. Ceaserstone benchtops in ‘Frosty Carrina’ gleam beneath matte-black pendant lights, and the splashback features glossy, New York-inspired subway tiles that add a delightful dash of urbanity. Finger-pull cabinet handles create seamless lines that are consistent with the uninterrupted flow that permeates the rest of the space.

Polished floorboards in solid Tasmanian oak add warmth and depth to the clean and minimalist atmosphere of the kitchen.

Although style and design were at the forefront of this project, the aesthetics certainly don’t come at the expense of functionality. Space and technology have been utilised to ensure that both casual cooks and avid chefs can enjoy this space.

The airy layout allows for effortless entertaining and includes a large island bench with a breakfast bar for casual dining. Storage space has been maximised with generously-sized drawers, cupboards and pantry. LED lighting was installed in the ceiling and underneath the cabinets to provide a warm and welcoming ambience.

State-of-the-art Siemens appliances provide all the necessary modern luxuries. The dishwasher has been incorporated into the cabinetry and meticulously colour-matched to blend in faultlessly with the all-white scheme. Convenient deluxe double-ovens guarantee that dinner and dessert are always served right on time.

In addition to hand-painted cabinetry, Kitchen Evolution works with a broad range of finishes, including timber, two-pack and manufactured boards. Outdoor kitchens, bathroom vanities, and freestanding and walk- in wardrobe projects are also welcomed by the team.

Located in South-East Queensland, the company was established five years ago by Dane Hancock and David Robert, who together have more than 30 years’ experience in the industry.
