Project 1

Before its renovation this kitchen was small and impractical given the size of the home and homeowners’ entertaining style. It featured timber veneer cabinetry, black benchtops and very little pantry space. The 2010–2011 Queensland floods had also damaged the kitchen, where the water had risen 1.5 metres.

Kitchen design company Enigma Interiors was presented with the messy renovation challenge and sought out the expertise of the team at Stocks Appliances to supply a premium selection of modern appliances that wouldn’t overpower the space.

The top priority in the renovation was to better utilise the space by creating more benchtop workspace and developing a better flow, with improved ergonomics.
The kitchen’s two large island benches allow for multiple users, and can be used for food preparation, casual dining and entertaining. The benchtops feature Arabescato Vagli honed marble and house the Shaws and Franke sinks, as well as the Miele integrated dishwasher.

The stunning feature Onice Viola marble splashback sits over the ILVE freestanding stove, which is complete with teppanyaki plate and electric deep fryer. Sitting above the stove is the Qasair rangehood. The surrounding cabinetry, used throughout the kitchen, has been painted in semi-gloss two-pack and features internal hardware by Blum.

Flawlessly blending with the cabinetry are the Gaggenau fully integrated refrigerator and freezer. The premium appliances from Stocks Appliances are rounded out with the V-ZUG microwave, steamer, warming drawer and coffee centre. What was once the small pantry has been converted into a scullery, which can be used by outside caterers. The formerly impractical space has been transformed to seamlessly integrate the kitchen, scullery, dining and media areas.

Stocks Appliances is a family-owned and operated business that has been trading for 35 years. The company offers an impressive range of European and Australian appliances to suit every customer’s needs.
