For this bathroom, sublime architectural interiors has created a sleek, minimalistic space where storage and accessibility is the focal point. hidden storage has been incorporated behind the mirrored shaving cabinet and below the suspended vanity. a generously-sized ledge in the shower provides ample surface space, while the shower itself is lavishly roomy.

A muted colour palette of charcoal and soft browns creates a subdued, relaxing environment. ceramic wall tiles in ‘Zero elephant’ by metro tiles are contemporary and stylish, while the honeycomb-patterned feature wall in ‘geo elephant’ breaks up the uniformity. chrome tapware, towel racks and a shower mixer from reece lend polished and luxurious embellishments. blue-tinted Led strip lighting is a modern and delightful accent that adds a welcome pop of colour.

Sublime architectural interiors was established in 2006 by kim duffin, a certified kitchen designer (ckd au) and certified bathroom designer (cbd au). the company specialises in an australia-wide design service and offers project management in brisbane and south-east Queensland. as well as kitchens, sublime architectural interiors also designs bathrooms, entertainment rooms, bars, studies and commercial spaces.

Project 1

Sublime Architectural Interiors has transformed this standard apartment layout into a modern, chic inner-city hub that captures the views that make Brisbane a dynamic and cosmopolitan city.

The owners of the apartment wanted a kitchen designed for entertaining, so an open-plan dining and living space that connected to the balcony was a priority. The owners are a well-travelled corporate couple who have worked throughout Europe and Asia, and this is reflected in the new space. The kitchen is a fusion of modern Australian furniture and artworks with European chic and a touch of Asia.

A digitally-printed Starfire toughened glass splashback features an image of bamboo shoots that was customdesigned by Kim Duffin Design. The image ties in with the owners’ extensive collection of Asian art and keeps the space fresh and bold.

A typical galley kitchen design was selected as it best suits the flow of the kitchen from the hallway. Larger appliances such as the fridge, oven, and pantry are housed at the end of the galley so that they do not detract from the openness or block any of the 270-degree views that the space offers.

The design is user-friendly, providing a seamless flow from cooking ingredients to preparation space, right through to delivery to the dining area. The use of Blum SERVO-DRIVE single-touch drawers ensures a high level of functionality for the owners.

A Silestone reconstituted stone benchtop in ‘Lagoon’ is the perfect backdrop to the bold-hued Dulux two-pack ‘Dark Door’ and ‘Bean Shoot’ cabinetry. Energy-efficient LED downlights highlight the beautiful colours and designs of the kitchen.
