MAGNIFICENCE IN MONOCHROME

A SPACE FOR THE MINIMALIST ENTERTAINER

This eye-catching kitchen was designed by Peter Barrass for Kitchen Evolution, and blends striking contemporary aesthetics with impressive functionality.

For this design, Barrass whole-heartedly embraced a monochromatic palette of clean whites, stark blacks and brushed stainless steel accents, which delivers a sleek and voguish look. Ceaserstone benchtops in ‘Frosty Carrina’ gleam beneath matte-black pendant lights, and the splashback features glossy, New York-inspired subway tiles that add a delightful dash of urbanity. Finger-pull cabinet handles create seamless lines that are consistent with the uninterrupted flow that permeates the rest of the space.

Polished floorboards in solid Tasmanian oak add warmth and depth to the clean and minimalist atmosphere of the kitchen.

Although style and design were at the forefront of this project, the aesthetics certainly don’t come at the expense of functionality. Space and technology have been utilised to ensure that both casual cooks and avid chefs can enjoy this space.

The airy layout allows for effortless entertaining and includes a large island bench with a breakfast bar for casual dining. Storage space has been maximised with generously-sized drawers, cupboards and pantry. LED lighting was installed in the ceiling and underneath the cabinets to provide a warm and welcoming ambience.

State-of-the-art Siemens appliances provide all the necessary modern luxuries. The dishwasher has been incorporated into the cabinetry and meticulously colour-matched to blend in faultlessly with the all-white scheme. Convenient deluxe double-ovens guarantee that dinner and dessert are always served right on time.

In addition to hand-painted cabinetry, Kitchen Evolution works with a broad range of finishes, including timber, two-pack and manufactured boards. Outdoor kitchens, bathroom vanities, and freestanding and walk- in wardrobe projects are also welcomed by the team.

Located in South-East Queensland, the company was established five years ago by Dane Hancock and David Robert, who together have more than 30 years’ experience in the industry.

Whether you desire a minimalistic and contemporary kitchen or a perfectly-executed traditional design, the Kitchen Evolution team can bring your vision to life.

Project 1

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

FROM RESPONSIBLE DAYS TO AN ACTIVE NIGHTLIFE

An open-plan bar, modern appliances and a butler’s pantry are just some of the stand-out features of this exceptional kitchen, which was designed by Peter Barass from Kitchen Evolution.

The homeowners wanted a spacious family kitchen that would accommodate their busy lifestyle, as well as the perfect space for entertaining family and friends. To bring this dream to life, Barass installed a servery window that connects the kitchen to the outdoor area. He also made sure the kitchen was well-equipped, with two ovens, plenty of bench space and a practical layout.

Featuring energy-saving LED lights, 40mm ‘Alpine White’ granite benchtops, brick-style black gloss splashbacks and hand painted decorative timber kickboards, the kitchen is equally stylish and functional.

Project 2

BEAUTIFUL CLASSIC DESIGN

HAND-PAINTED LUXURY

Designed by Kitchen Evolution’s Peter Barrass, this kitchen strikes the perfect balance between classic aesthetic beauty and effortless modern functionality.

The timeless kitchen has been created not only to blend seamlessly with the rest of the home, but also to provide a space that is practical for family living. The project’s traditional look has been achieved through the careful selection of features and appliances, including a canopy-style rangehood, Falcon cream-coloured oven, and a spacious island bench, which also accommodates a breakfast bar.

Open-plan design has paved the way for easy family living, and with ample storage throughout the kitchen, it is well- equipped to deal with everyday family life.

One of Kitchen Evolution’s specialties is hand-painting cabinetry for a sophisticated bespoke finish; a skill that was utilised in the creation of this project. The hand-painted timber doors feature raised moulding, which enhances the classic look the clients desired, while antique brass handles with cream-crackled porcelain inserts add a subtle yet effective touch.

The main benches are topped with stylish spotted red gum timber, and the island features complementary granite in ‘Forest Gold’. A tiled brick-look splashback and polished hardwood timber floors contribute to the kitchen’s warm and welcoming aesthetic, and further bolster its rustic charm.

Clever design was called for to ensure the cabinetry was carefully located around the space’s many windows, which provide abundant natural light but posed a challenge in the positioning of the cabinets.

In addition to hand-painted cabinetry, Kitchen Evolution works with a broad range of finishes, including timber, two-pack, and manufactured boards. Outdoor kitchens, bathroom vanities, and freestanding and walk-in wardrobe projects are also welcomed by the team.
