Meeting in the middle of form and function, this kitchen is a space where family can live in comfort and friends can be entertained in style. What helps achieve this is the non-utility island bench, which is left free from a sink or cooktop so that is provides a clear, central gathering point. A large butler’s pantry not only provides abundant storage, but also hides the inevitable mess of family life from sight, leaving the main space to shine.

All the elements of this kitchen – designed by Marc Silcock of Designer Kitchens – speak luxury; from the huge wine fridge to the 80mm Smartstone benchtop in ‘Amara’. The Dulux finish in ‘Lexicon Quarter’ ties the walls to the gloss two-pack cabinetry, which has handle-less façades that speak volumes of the modern and minimalistic intention of the overall project.

Recycled timber cladding to the island bench grounds the light and lofty space, and brings a tactile element to an otherwise seamless aesthetic. LED strip lighting beneath the overhead cabinetry and the island bench highlights the kitchen’s natural textures and patterns that bring together a design with universal appeal.

When it comes to the bathroom of this property, the room’s ease of use leaves no hint of the design challenge that was overcome by designer Marc Silcock. He was faced with a large square footprint that needed to engage all the elements of a family bathroom, but with an aesthetic appeal that reigns supreme.

Sitting below a louvre window, a freestanding bath invites all visitors into its warm embrace. Across the room, a walk-in shower provides a continuous transition from one space to the next, and makes for an unimpeded view of the stone-clad feature wall.

Bridging these elements is an understated Formica double vanity in ‘Malibu’ gloss finish, which is highlighted overhead by a vast, mirrored cabinet that is complete with angled strip light.

In an always-appealing grey and white palette, Designer Kitchens have achieved striking minimalist style in addition to a highly usable and welcoming space.

Project 1

This stunning project is a perfect example of the high standards clients can expect from Designer Kitchens. Selecting materials and appliances of the highest standard, and working closely with homeowners to achieve excellent design solutions, the company has proven it’s able to create masterful designs on countless occasions.

The owners of this residence sought the help of designer Marc Silcock to improve the functionality of their kitchen. Completing both the design and construction of the project, Designer Kitchens, worked towards making a space that would be suitable for family-living and entertaining, without compromising on the kitchen’s overall layout and visual appeal.

The textured design epitomises modern industrial living and welcomes a feeling of warmth into the space, while the use of recycled timber keeps the colour scheme visually balanced through the combination of natural and manufactured materials.

To properly utilise the space, Designer Kitchens ensured there were plenty of overhead cabinets and drawers spread across the room. The kitchen island is a valuable addition to the space because it can be used for food preparation and family dining, eliminating the need for a dining table.

Pendant and LED strip lighting was used to keep the space bright and fresh, ensuring all areas of the kitchen can be used at any time of the day. The inclusion of white subway tile splashbacks also complements the industrial design and accentuates the wooden cabinetry and island bench.

Built-in stainless steel appliances and white gloss cabinetry put the finishing touches on this project, making the kitchen a joy to both work in and admire.

For more than 25 years Designer Kitchens has been turning customers’ kitchen dreams into reality. Specialising in contemporary kitchen design and construction, the company can also tailor its design services to meet your needs.

Project 2

This breathtaking kitchen by Marc Silcock epitomises the outstanding innovation and creativity for which Designer Kitchens is renowned.

Bringing together defining elements, the elevated 6m x 4m kitchen demands attention from all angles. The magnificent island bench is crafted from New York marble from Turkey, which is illuminated to complement the timber flooring and create a warm ambience in the home. Mirrored glass was selected for the kickboard to further enhance the sophistication of the space.

Featuring an Oliveri sink and a long benchtop for food preparation, the island bench is not only a visual marvel, but also enhances the function of the space. It seats up to seven people, making it ideal for informal dining.

The sleek cabinetry features a two-pack 30 per cent matte Dulux finish in black, and touch-to-open mechanisms were installed for a modern streamlined aesthetic.

The butler’s pantry provides a wealth of storage space and also contains the messes associated with food preparation, which helps to maintain the main kitchen’s immaculate aesthetic when entertaining. The cool LED strip lighting that illuminates the cooking zone contrasts beautifully with the backlit island bench.

The highly-functional kitchen boasts state-of-the-art appliances from Miele, including a 900mm gas cooktop with an undermount rangehood, a 600mm oven, a built-in coffee machine, and a fully-integrated dishwasher. A Liebherr integrated fridge/freezer was also installed, along with a luxurious wine cabinet from Kitchener.
